Professor George D. Stamoulis, head of the STEcon group of Athens University of Economics and Business presented iFLEX at the workshop “Goals and Challenges of the Electricity Markets of the Future” which took place in Athens on 13 July. The workshop was organised by the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator HEDNO and project Erigrid2.0 and featured eleven highly-qualified speakers from both the academia and the industry.
The topic of Professor Stamoulis’ talk was “Demand Response Intentional change of normal consumption patterns by energy consumers in response to external price signals (implicit DR) or incentives to reduce or increase consumption (explicit DR). Both operations can be automated.: from Theory to Practice” comprising the basic concepts of incentives-based mechanisms for Demand Response as well as how they can be applied in practice. To this end, Professor Stamoulis presented the main objectives of iFLEX and the scope of the iFLEX pilots.
